Elkhart Lake a “Destination” Wedding
Walking through the village of Elkhart Lake (90 minutes north of Milwaukee) is a bit like stepping back in time. It has a classic Resort town feel, similar to Ephram in Door County, but with a warm, clear, spring fed lake at its center. A place to escape and relax and enjoy a little down time. It’s a wonderful setting for a wedding and perfect for Kerry and TJ!
As a teenager TJ spent his summers in Elkhart Lake at the Harand Theatre Camp. It was a formative experience for TJ. It’s plain to see that he feels a deep connection and holds many wonderful memories from places all around town. When TJ met Kerry they began to spend there vacations in Elkhart Lake and Kerry quickly fell in love with town as well. Getting married there, in this special place for them, what a wonderful way to start their lives together as husband and wife.
Victorian Village Lawn Wedding & Siebkens Resort Reception
The wedding ceremony was held beside the lake, surrounded by the magnificent pine trees on Victorian Village Resort’s lawn. The setup was simple elegance with with white wooden chairs and hanging flower arrangements lining the aisle. A violinist set the mood as the ceremony began with the men carrying the huppah, a wedding tent used in Jewish ceremonies. The ceremony was touching, animated and fun and 30 minutes later the groom smashed the glass and the crowd shouted Mazel tov! Kery and TJ are man and wife!!!
Siebkens Resort hosted the reception and the food was wonderful! The entertainment was a Beatles cover band, The Cavern Beat, who keep the guest on the dance floor until close at 12am. Free beer, wine and “Bug Juice”, TJs’ camp concoction, were flowing at the bar. Everyone had a fantastic time… we had a fantastic time!!!
Sarah and I were so taken with Elkhart Lake that we plan to return this summer for our 10th anniversary! Thank you so much Kerry and TJ for the amazing evening and including us in you day! We hope to see you soon on the Siebkens’ peir…. with a cocktail in hand!
